How it Works

Fall in love with your jewelry again.

Every piece of jewelry has a story. It has seen couples through decades of marriage, babies who brought more joy than their families ever could have hoped for, and hard-earned graduations celebrated with a special gift. But as the years go by, this once-cherished piece tends to become forgotten.

Jewelry is not meant to sit alone in the dark; its job is to shine brightly and remind us of the happy occasion it once celebrated. By creating something new that you’ll want to wear every day, we can breathe new life into these neglected pieces.

When we wear a piece of repurposed jewelry, we carry our loved ones with us everywhere we go. Cheers to remembering the past and to celebrating new beginnings!

HOW IT WORKS

1. Consultation

In our initial meeting, whether virtual or in-person, we dive into your vision and the jewelry pieces with sentimental value that you'd like to revive. We discuss your budget, expectations, and the overall collaboration process. If we decide to move forward, a $500 non-refundable deposit secures your spot and will be applied to your final invoice upon completion.

2. Evaluation

Upon receiving the jewelry pieces you've gathered for revival, we meticulously separate the gemstones from their settings. This gives us a much clearer picture of sizes and quality of gemstones that can be best utilized in a new design.

You also have the option to melt your “old” metal for cash at the refiner and the payout to be applied to the final cost of your project. We provide a list of refiners that we work with and you can go to them directly or we can do it for you. We do not charge for this service, it is merely a service we offer complimentary for working with us. Some conditions apply.

3. Visualization

Utilizing your gemstone inventory, and incorporating more if needed, we present you with design concepts based on our collaborative sessions. These concepts are then transformed into realistic CAD renderings. Before the final piece goes into production, we create a 3D model, allowing you to scrutinize every detail and ensure it aligns perfectly with your vision.

4. Production

At the heart of New York City, we source and craft every commission, ensuring that your jewelry never leaves our shores to be manufactured overseas. We take pride in our hands-on approach from start to finish, collaborating exclusively with the industry's finest. What's more, we actively support several women-owned enterprises within the industry who share our dedication to quality and exceptional craftsmanship.

FAQs

  • Our revival projects begin at a base price of $500, with the majority falling within the $1,500 to $5,000 range. However, it's important to note that the cost of commissioning a bespoke design depends on various factors, including the intricacy of the design, the number of diamonds, the type and weight of metal, and more.

At the outset of our collaboration, we provide you with an estimated price range for your project. Following the selection of your design, you will receive a detailed price quote. Rest assured, we proceed with the final fabrication only after receiving your approval, ensuring transparency and alignment with your budgetary preferences. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to delivering exceptional value for your investment.

  • Absolutely! We can meet on Zoom to discuss your project. If you're doing a revival, we will provide you with an insured, pre-paid label for an overnight delivery to us.

  • Yes, of course. We are insured to cover the value of your items while they are in our possession and being worked on for a revival. If you need to ship your pieces to us, we provide an insured shipping label of the preferred carrier. We require you to provide an estimated value of the pieces and/or an appraisal or GIA certificate (when available) before sending them to us.

  • Typically, a bespoke commission takes about 8-12 weeks from initial design consultation to final product. Revivals may have a shorter lead time, but it all depends on your design and how involved it is. However, the process can be expedited if you need your bespoke jewelry sooner.

  • Jalpa is a certified Gemologist and personally evaluates and handpicks the materials used in your future heirlooms. We ensure that all materials meet the highest standards of quality and are sourced in the USA, and whenever possible, from women-owned businesses as part of the supply chain.

  • We stand behind the craftsmanship and integrity of each piece that you commission and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. That being said, jewelry is delicate and should be handled with care. We are happy to repair an item purchased, at no charge to you, within the first 30 days of receipt of purchase. Repairs needed after 30 days, or deemed to be caused by misuse, will incur repair and shipping fees at the expense of the customer.

  • When your jewelry is ready, we can submit it to a gemological laboratory so that you get a third-party (and unbiased) certification. The certificate will have a detailed description, quantity and quality of materials used and an appraised value of the total piece. We are happy to take care of this for you for an additional charge of $175.
